Patna, October 1 – A project with solar panels installed in a residential area will be approved by the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) in two days, as part of a solar energy project for the city, said PMC Deputy Director General (DevD) Pratap Gogoi.
Gogoi said the approval would be done in two phases.
The first phase would be for the solar project with panels, which will be completed by December 11.
The second phase would take place by the end of January, he said.
The project will be a demonstration project, to demonstrate the feasibility of the solar power system, he added.
Gigawatt Solar Power Pvt Ltd, which has been operating a photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Patra for the last five years, had submitted a proposal to the PMC for the project on August 15.
The project will help to meet the city’s energy needs and would generate electricity, said Gogui.
“We are hoping to get the project cleared within the next week,” he added, as the project would not be a permanent one.
